Comprehensive Introduction to Data Science
With data now being created at the rate of 2.5 quintillion bytes a day, there is a tremendous demand for people who can perform analysis and extract insights from data. This course will leverage Altair software and will provide students with the fundamental skills necessary for introductory-level data science and analysis
Course Highlights:
- Introduction to Data Preparation for Analytics
- Data and Project Preparation
- Basic and Advanced Data Preparation
- Overview of Data Analysis
- Learning Algorithms
- Model Training & Testing
Course Learning Outcomes:
- Ability to manipualte various data types and data sets
- Implement advanced data preparation techniques, statistical analysis, learning algorithms, and testing/training
Course Typically Offered: Live-Online in Winter and Summer quarters.
Note: Deadline to enroll in this course is Tuesday - 1/24/23.
Software: Students will use Altair Monarch and Altair (KnowledgeStudio) software to complete hands-on assignments and projects. Product activation will be included in the cost of tuition and will provide access to both platforms throughout the course. Both software run natively on Windows OS only (7 and above) and a stable connection to the internet is strongly encouraged for live-online sessions.
Prerequisites: Students should have an understanding of statistics and data analysis prior to enrolling.
Next steps: Upon completion, consider additional coursework in our specialized certificate in Machine Learning Methods to continue learning.
