Bio
Lauri has been a practicing genetic counselor since 1998 upon completing her Genetic Counseling Program at the University of California Berkeley. She has been board certified by the American Board of Genetic Counseling since 1999 and licensed in the state of California since 2012.
Lauri has worked in reproductive genetics for her entire career, providing genetic counseling for male and female factor infertility, preimplantation genetic testing, prenatal diagnosis, and genetic risk assessment for potential gamete donors.
She began her career at University of California San Francisco’s Medical Center and then moved to California Pacific Medical Center in late 2001. In December of 2010, Lauri started her private practice. She also serves as the Director of Clinical Genetics at Pacific Fertility Center in San Francisco, California.
Lauri founded and chaired the American Society of Reproductive Medicine (ASRM) Genetic Counseling Special Interest Group in 2003 (now Genetic Counseling Professional Group) and continues to be an active member. She has also been Secretary, Co-chair and continuing member of the National Society of Genetic Counselors’ (NSGC) ART/Infertility Special Interest Group. Additionally, she is president of the Northern California Coalition of Genetic Counselors.
She consistently presents at regional, national and international professional conferences, mentors colleagues and students, serves on thesis committees for genetic counseling students, co-chairs a regional genetic counselor’s conference and has published numerous peer reviewed articles.
Lauri has a passion for supporting the continued growth and education of genetic counseling students, genetics colleagues and non-genetics medical professionals.
