The Cybersecurity Professional Series

Open the door to your future career!

UC San Diego Extended Studies' Cybersecurity Professional Series equips you with the knowledge necessary to advance your career in the Cybersecurity field. Start by gaining a strong baseline understanding of the fundamentals and build up your knowledge with continued certifications afterwards.

Start Here - Cybersecurity Fundamentals

Just getting started? The Cybersecurity Fundamentals course is the best place for any aspiring professional to begin. This course prepares you to earn your CompTIA Security+ Certificate - the first security certification a candidate should obtain. It establishes the core knowledge needed of any cybersecurity role and provides a springboard to intermediate-level IT Security jobs.

It is highly recommended that students have a good knowledge of computer Hardware and Networking before starting the program. COMPTIA-A+ and COMPTIA - Network+ are strongly recommended as prerequisites for the program. However, other degrees, certifications, and working knowledge can suffice as a pre-requisite for the program.
