The University of California San Diego, Division of Extended Studies, OTI Education Center has joined with the legendary USS Midway Aircraft Carrier in San Diego to provide classes aboard the ship beginning in 2023.
Students will be a part of the "Midway University" experience and feel immersed in the ship's offerings. Included in the experience includes the Battle of Midway Theater to hear the "voices of the Midway", Aircraft Gallery viewing and Deck Exhibits.
This is a very rare opportunity to be a part of history on the longest-serving aircraft carrier in the 20th century, and gain knowledge in occupational safety and health. The USS Midway offers hands-on training settings, fully equipped training rooms and a walk through a historical time capsule. You will surely never forget your time on “America’s Living Symbol of Freedom”.
Course fee includes admission onto the USS Midway for the duration of the class. Once registered, more information will follow regarding parking and transportation suggestions, lunch options located off the Hangar deck, ship policies and apppropriate attire for attendance.
The OSHA 5410 - Occupational Safety and Health Standards for the Maritime Industry course was the inaugural opening of this celebrated joining of resources.
