This course is for event workers and personnel who want to better understand safety. It is also intended for safety professionals who want to better understand events. These skills are universally applicable to a wide range of facilities, types of events and jurisdictions. This course goes beyond OSHA regulations and introduces the student to all of the different groups involved in live events, special events, mass gatherings, festivals and sporting events. Additional introductory topics include: • Scope of event safety • Background and evolution of event safety • Types of events and venues • Basic event safety practices • Crowds • General overview of a wide range of hazard recognition and solutions • Harm reduction • Incident command system, Understanding permanent and temporary infrastructure • Overview of career resources and opportunities in the Event Safety Industry.
