Blue Economy: Definitions, Tools and Planning
This is the third course in the Maldives Blue Prosperity Training Program. The course will familiarize students with the fundamentals of the blue economy and methods for blue economy
planning. Students will learn how to set objectives, define and prioritize short, medium, and long-term actions,
and options for mainstreaming blue economy into policy frameworks and institutions. They will also explore
quantitative analyses to inform blue economy planning. The lessons will focus heavily on the practical
application of blue economy planning through case studies.
Grading Options
Students have the option to choose how they want their course(s) graded. Students interested in earning a Certificate of Achievement for this course and/or a Certificate of Completion upon completion of all five courses, please select either the Letter Grade or Pass/No Pass option at the time of enrollment.
