Typography, layout, composition, content design, storytelling
This course builds on the foundational work in Design I and applies design principles utilizing content, audience, and context through the design process of; research, conceptualizing, development, and production. Projects incorporate multiple contexts; screen and print, audiences (young/old), format (poster/card). Use of modular division of space, simple grids. Use of color.

Máximo Escobedo teaches Introduction to Design and Design II: Information Design for the Communication Design certificate program.
He is an accomplished designer with nearly 30 years of professional experience. He studied graphic design at San Diego State University and is a graduate of the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena with a degree in Graphics and Packaging Design. His work has been recognized by numerous local and national organizations, such as the American Institute of Graphics Arts (AIGA), Ad Club, Communications Arts, Behance, LogoLounge, Step by Step 100, and Print Regional Design Annual.
