sustainable, healthy future. Learn about how
we’re urging local cities, the county and the
state to take climate action and decarbonize our
society. Understand climate-related initiatives
and referendums on the November 2024 ballot.
We’ll explore different ways that people like us can
take action to help save the planet and protect our
community from the impacts of climate change and
climate injustice.
Presenter Biography
Paloma Cuautenango is the volunteer
coordinator with SanDiego350. Previously,
she delivered DEI training for adults and youth
community organizers, worked on public policy
and led health efforts in San Diego and Santa
Cruz. She received her B.A. in Community Studies
and Fine Arts at UC Santa Cruz.
Susan Duerksen retired from a career
as a newspaper reporter and nonprofit
communications director. She has volunteered
with SanDiego350 for five years, primarily as
co-leader of the Justice, Equity, Diversity and
Inclusion team. Originally from the Midwest,
Duerksen has a B.A. in journalism from Indiana
University and a Master of Public Health degree
from SDSU.
