Featured Speaker: Greg Davis, M.S.
Each human has a DNA genome of roughly three billion base pairs. The first time this was decoded for one human, the cost was $2.7 billion and it took over two years to complete. Today, it takes about five hours and costs about $200 — one of the most dramatic technology accelerations in history. This lecture will discuss the technology that enabled this advance, the company (Illumina) behind the rapid acceleration and many of the ways in which this information is being used today to benefit all of us.
