Featured Speaker: Tal Einav, Ph.D.
While the annual influenza vaccine works well on the population as a whole, there is substantial variability in its effectiveness. Around 30 percent of individuals who receive the vaccine show little-to-no response and someone who responds poorly one year may respond very well the next year. This talk will describe how we can combine the wealth of influenza-vaccine studies from the past decades to predict each person’s future response and how we are leveraging these approaches to develop personalized vaccine recommendations that will maximally augment each person’s immunity.
