Featured Speaker: Professor Vinko Zlomislic
As our society undergoes the dramatic social and demographic changes of a growing elderly population, management of painful degenerative conditions is increasingly important from the economic, political and healthcare perspectives. Spinal degenerative conditions may have a significant impact on function and quality of life. This lecture will review common pathologic conditions, associated degeneration and management options available to allow a patient to remain active and pain-free. The discussion will include a review of preventive, surgical and nonsurgical treatments and outcomes.
Presenter Biography
Vinko Zlomislic is Associate Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery at UC San Diego Health specializing in the treatment of musculoskeletal problems of the spine. He completed his spinesurgery fellowship at UC San Diego and his residency training at the University of Washington School of Medicine and Harborview Medical Center in Seattle. His interests encompass degenerative-deformity surgery, minimally invasive surgery, trauma and tumor surgery. He earned his medical degree from Michigan State University, College of Human Medicine.
