Featured Speaker: Stephen Hutton, D.M.D., M.S., M.P.H
Your mouth is the gateway to your body. You bring energy to your body through your mouth. Pathogens also invade your body’s organ systems the same way. Poor oral health is not only bad for your teeth but can also contribute to developing and exacerbating chronic systemic diseases. Tooth loss can occur as a result of periodontal disease, tooth caries and trauma. While nearly half of the United States population has some form of periodontal disease, a chronic inflammatory disease in itself, the damage from the oral pathogens can be managed and reversed through regenerative periodontal therapy. If a tooth must be removed, dental implants, when placed properly, can be used to predictably replace missing teeth and provide for a periodontally stable and esthetic result.
