Carrie Westmoreland Miller is a graduate of Washington State University and began her nursing career almost three decades ago. Since 2001, she has been teaching and has focused on lactation for the past 14 years. Her research encompasses the infant feeding experience for first time mothers, as well as published journal articles related to breastfeeding and excellence in teaching. One of her grants included creating a community specific module to empower young adults about the benefits of breastfeeding. She continues to serve in a number of leadership roles in university committees and has received awards and honors for her teaching.
