Education doesn’t end upon graduation. As the continuing education arm of the university, it’s our job to reskill and upskill workers to stay current in today’s fast-paced job market. In a military hub like San Diego, veterans make up a significant portion of the workforce. Military spouses, transitioning service members in search of a civilian career, and vets seeking career advancement all benefit from Extension’s courses and certificate programs, some of them VA-approved and eligible for financial assistance. We talk, listen, and collaborate with our unique community to generate solutions and advancement.
Education doesn’t end upon retirement, either. This sentiment is exemplified by the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at UC San Diego. Osher’s lectures, seminars, discussion groups, and social outings give San Diegans age 50 and up the opportunity to connect with their peers and learn for the sheer love of learning. At Extension, our mission is to inspire learning throughout the lifespan.
