Unplanned Experiments and a Singular Exception
Featured Speaker: Professor Nancy Segal
Professor Segal will review key findings from the Minnesota Study of Twins Reared Apart, her studies of separated Chinese twins and virtual twins (same-age unrelated siblings raised together), and other twin studies. This information will provide context for a discussion of the 1960s New York City twin study that was the focus of her book Deliberately Divided: Inside the Controversial Study of Twins and Triplets Adopted Apart.
Nancy L. Segal is Professor of Psychology and Director of the Twin Studies Center at California State University, Fullerton. She received her BA from Boston University and an MA and PhD in Social Sciences and Behavioral Sciences from the University of Chicago. Segal is an Associate Editor of Twin Research and Human Genetics, the official journal of the International Society for Twin Studies.
