Robotic-Assisted Surgery: Present Technology and Future Innovation
Speaker
Professor Santiago Horgan
Coordinator
Jim LaCombe
Robotic-assisted surgery (RAS) is a cutting-edge
technology that enables surgeons to perform
minimally invasive operations with enhanced
visualization and precision. RAS is rapidly changing
the practice of surgery across surgical disciplines.
This lecture will provide an overview of the current
state of RAS, the technology used in today’s
surgical practice and commonly performed robotic
operations. Emerging technologies in RAS, including
artificial intelligence and machine learning, will also
be explored.
