A Civic Forum with Mayors Todd Gloria and David Holt
UC San Diego Division of Extended Studies, in partnership with the National Conflict Resolution Center (NCRC), presents Civic Trust in Action: Cities, Research, and the Next Generation, a cross-sector civic forum exploring how trust is built and sustained across institutions, communities and generations. The program features San Diego Mayor Todd Gloria and Oklahoma City Mayor David Holt, two nationally recognized civic leaders who have each served as President of the United States Conference of Mayors. Their dialogue offers a timely opportunity to examine how American cities are navigating increasing responsibility for core public needs while responding to rising expectations for transparency, accountability and effective governance.
At its core, the conversation is grounded in a shared challenge facing cities nationwide: how to maintain civic trust in an environment where public institutions are asked to solve increasingly complex social, economic and infrastructure challenges, often with limited resources and growing public scrutiny.
Rather than focusing on partisan frameworks, the program centers on a practical question: how do cities design systems, policies, and civic relationships that sustain trust over time?
This is a free event and open to the public.
