This course is designed to familiarize students with the research procedures necessary to collect and analyze primary data in Institutional Research. Students will be able to utilize quantitative and qualitative research methods to create instruments necessary for the collection of primary data and to use statistical tools to analyze it appropriately. Students will also familiarize themselves with Institutional Review Board procedures that are required when doing primary research in a university/institutional setting.

Note: This is the third required course for Specialized Certificate in Instructional Research. Introduction of Institutional Research is the first required course. The second required course is Applied Research in Higher Education. Courses in this program may not be taken out of order. Admission to the program is required for enrollment in this program. Previously offered as BUSA 40916.

You must register for this course with the Letter Grade Option. If you do not then you must retake the course at your own expense with the Letter Grade Option in order to be eligible for the certificate at the end of the program.
