Patient Pay/Customer Service -Current Topics Effecting the Revenue Cycle
This course will provide students with the knowledge and skills to successfully complete advanced patient financial calculations and current topics effecting the revenue cycle to include price transparency, fraud, waste and abuse, and volume to value. This course will also train students on how to provide customer service in a healthcare setting to include being patient-centric, understanding cultural differences, language barriers, and healthcare best practices. Students will understand how customer service impacts the perceptions of quality of care. Skills covered will be; communication, listening, being compassionate, and showing patience.

Terri Meier, CHFP, CRCR, CSBI, CSMC, has over forty years of experience as an accomplished revenue cycle executive. She is skilled in all aspects of end-to-end revenue cycle financial management, workflow process improvement, training, and developing organizational talent.
As of January 2023, Terri is the Assistant Vice Chancellor Revenue Cycle for University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences where she is responsible for overseeing and directing the overall function of the UAMS revenue cycle, including the integration, strategic planning, and operational performance.
